How We got Here
August 25, 1996
John Dean starts John Dean Custom Cabinetry in the basement of his Bolton, CT home.
The Barn
As the custom cabinetry business grows, John builds a barn on the Dean family property to accomodate the shop and first employees.
2004
2011
Kevin Dean joins the family business as a shop assistant.
First Showroom
John Dean Custom Cabinetry expands into a new building in Bolton, CT, with space for its first showroom and a larger cabinet shop.
Spring 2013
Summer 2013
Leah Dean officially joins the family business as a designer.
More options for every budget.
The business expands beyond custom cabinetry, introducing stock and semi-custom cabinet lines.

Erica Dean joins the family business as a bookkeeper.
A New Name for a Growing Business
John Dean Custom Cabinetry becomes Dean Cabinetry, reflecting how the company had grown beyond custom cabinetry to serve a wider range of projects and budgets.

Jason Dean joins the family business, helping with shop maintenance and infrastructure.
Room to Grow
Dean Cabinetry moves to 25 West Street in Bolton, expanding into a larger showroom and workspace to support the growing team and business.
Summer 2019
Winter 2022
Dean Cabinetry installs its first CNC machine, improving efficiency and precision in custom cabinet production.
Dean Cabinetry acquires 60 Progress Drive in Manchester, CT to expand its manufacturing operations and installs a new Superfici finishing system.

An Unexpected Setback
A fire significantly damages the West Street shop and showroom. Nearly two decades after moving out of the barn, it once again becomes temporary office space during the recovery.

Dean Cabinetry moves to 60 Progress Drive, bringing operations together under one roof and building out a new showroom.
