Kitchen Designers Assess Your Needs and Wants

Not just a kitchen designer near you, a kitchen designer who works for you.

When it comes to remodeling projects, your kitchen designer will take the time to understand how you currently use your kitchen and what your dream kitchen will enable you to do. If your hobby is baking, a kitchen island with a large quartz countertop to work on and a custom storage space for easy access to your KithenAid mixer could be ideal for you. Your designer will ask you many questions about your favorite appliances and utensils, the habits of other household members, and your design preferences to uncover the best layout, storage solutions, and design style for you within your budget.

Dean Cabinetry kitchen designers’ extensive experience will not only help you achieve your dream kitchen but may also help you improve upon it. Your kitchen designer may make suggestions you didn’t know to ask for. It’s the designer’s job to know what will and will not work within your layout and budget constraints. They can pull from the myriad of past professional designs to offer unique solutions, like a peninsula instead of an island in a smaller space, or the addition of a beverage area for the coffee lovers in the home.

Planning Your Custom Kitchen

We have honed our process at Dean Cabinetry over the past 25+ years. Our streamlined 6-step process begins with the discovery phase where we learn as much as possible about your preferences and your kitchen project. Then, based on what we learn, we provide you with 3 budget options. Once you choose your budget, your designer will work very closely with you to create a floor plan you are completely happy with. After the design phase, your cabinetry will be ordered or constructed in our Bolton, CT shop. Our work doesn’t end at installation, we will follow up with you afterward to ensure you are completely satisfied!

Collaborating with Your Kitchen Designer

Custom Kitchen Maintenance

Tips for your remodeled kitchen looking and functioning at its best

  1. Clean up spills and messes immediately to prevent staining or damage.
  2. Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid harsh chemicals that can damage finishes.
  3. Regularly wipe down surfaces, cabinets, and appliances to keep them looking their best.
  4. Follow manufacturer instructions for cleaning and maintaining appliances.
  5. Schedule regular maintenance check-ups for appliances and plumbing.
  6. Avoid placing hot items directly on countertops and use trivets or pot holders.
  7. Refresh your space periodically with new decor or minor updates to keep it looking fresh and functional.

Maintaining Your Dream Kitchen

By cleaning your cabinets, you will get the best value out of your kitchen. If maintained properly, cabinets can last for many years, even longer than many appliances, countertops, and kitchen tools.

Here are general best practices for any type of cabinet cleaning:

  1. Always use gentle cleaning solutions and soaps.
  2. Make sure to not use steel wool, abrasive cloths, abrasive sponges, or scrubbers, because they may scratch the wood and/or the painted finish on your cabinets.
  3. A mixture of mild dish soap and warm water is great for removing grease and grime. Other, stronger products are not usually necessary.
  4. Avoid soaking wood in water, as it may lead to rotting, discoloration, or water damage.
