- White – White is still the most popular color choice for kitchen cabinets. White cabinets are timeless and a great choice for resale value.

What additional colors are trending for kitchen cabinets in 2021?
Here are a variety of some other favorites in 2021 including the top 5.
What is the 2022 designer’s choice for cabinet color?
Well, it should be no surprise… the classic white cabinet will still be the #1 cabinet color for kitchens in 2022 and beyond.
White is crisp and clean, will brighten any kitchen, and will most likely never go out of style.
What are the designer’s choices for other 2022 painted cabinet colors?
- Green – Natural and organic; green is said to be the “BIG” color for 2022. Designers are excited about combining warm shades of green, with natural wood elements, such as oak and walnut.
- Matte Gray – Darker shades of gray will also be a hit. Whether designing a white kitchen with a matte gray accent, or combining your gray cabinets with a more earthy design, this trend will be hot! It has a modern feel and is very stylish.
- Blue – We are going to see very vibrant shades of blue as “pops” of color in kitchen designs. This could be an all over color, or as an accent color for an island or hood.
- Red – Keep an eye out for a variety of warm, rich, red tones in 2022. It looks like red will be making its debut, and this is a color that demands attention. You also may see shades of red being used on base cabinets or on kitchen islands as a pop of color.
What colors should I choose if I plan on moving?
If you’re not planning on staying in your current home, keep in mind resale and future buyers. I would suggest staying with classic white painted cabinetry, or a light neutral color. You can always add pops of color to enhance your kitchen look and feel, without compromising your budget or style.
What color should I choose if my current home is my forever home?
If this is your forever home, have fun and ponder different cabinet color options that are appealing to you. You are going to be spending a lot of time in your kitchen with family and friends; make it yours. Your kitchen can and should be unique, a space reflecting your style, and the color that makes you most happy!
