This wonderful South Windsor family settled into their home eight years ago, encountering a kitchen that, while functional, had a distinctly dated 1982 vibe. Their approach was one of patience: live in the space to understand which aspects worked well and which didn’t. Once the decision to renovate was made, their first stop was Dean Cabinetry. After going through the first two steps of our process (Discovery & Budget) it was time to connect them with one of our trusted contractors: Mark Ruggiero owner of DIFY Innovations.

Let’s talk about the challenges our clients faced with their kitchen. The layout included a peninsula which limited the available space for in room dining and entertaining. Our aim was simple: to improve the kitchen’s functionality and flow.

Our clients chose Kith Kitchens Maple Cottage Frameless Full Overlay cabinets in Beige, drawing inspiration from their field stone fireplace. These semi-custom cabinets are packed with various accessories to enhance organization and efficiency. From tip-out trays at the sink, to  roll-outs in the pantry cabinets, and a clever lazy Susan, we addressed every storage challenge with thoughtful care. The countertops, sourced from our trusted partners at Image , were crafted from Taj Mahal quartzite, complemented by a backsplash featuring the MSI Luxe interlocking tile. The final touches include an under-mount sink from Plimpton & Hills, a satin nickel Moen Align faucet, contrasting black hardware, and a beautiful black pendant light adding a touch of sparkle.

The standout feature of the renovation is undoubtedly the oversized island in Navel. Not only does it comfortably seat five with its under-counter stools, but it also serves as an ideal prep space. It provides convenient access to an oversized spice drawer and a mixer lift that is ready to assist in whipping up chocolate chip cookies. GE Cafe appliances from SK Lavery  are seamlessly integrated throughout the kitchen, including a dedicated beverage area, with a built-in wine rack, ensuring easy access for entertaining.  Simply grab and go and let the festivities commence!

It was a privilege to collaborate with these lovely clients. We’re thankful to have had the opportunity to bring their vision to life!

PS  If you are curious about the beautiful wall color you see, it is Sherwin Williams Threshold Taupe. Isn’t it gorgeous!

We recently remodeled our kitchen and bathroom and partnered with Dean Cabinetry. It was the best choice we made. Everyone is very knowledgeable, and friendly. They have a very methodical approach to kitchen remodeling. Every step of the process was clearly laid out ahead of time. They were extremely patient during our design phase. We went back and forth with Nathan for about 3 months before we signed off on everything and ordered our cabinets. He was very patient and made sure we were getting EXACTLY what we wanted. Kevin was always in touch with us and kept us well aware of where we were in the overall process. The delivery team was excellent and very careful not to knock into freshly painted walls and ceilings. The install team of Jake and Joe were great as well. Very friendly and showing up on time and working ALL day for 3 days in a row. No smoke breaks, no coffee breaks, no phone breaks. When they showed up, things got DONE. Any minor issues we had were taken care of quickly with the post install punch list we maintained. Even the contractor they referred us to was amazing. I must admit I was very nervous going into this whole process, but they made it VERY easy, and if I had to do it all over again, I’d definitely stick with Dean Cabinetry. – Happy Client
