A Kitchen That Needed to Catch Up
These homeowners love their 1939 home in Madison, CT, but the kitchen hadn’t kept pace with their busy household. As first-time renovators, they weren’t sure what to expect from a kitchen remodel. They discovered Dean Cabinetry through our YouTube videos and immediately connected with our approach. They saw a team that does things the right way, and that gave them the confidence to move forward!
Designing Around Real Family Life
Dean Cabinetry’s Client Manager worked with the clients to plan a kitchen that balanced style with everyday function. The family loved the option to mix and match cabinet lines, so they paired perimeter semi-custom cabinetry with a fully custom island. This choice gave them a layout tailored to their specific needs and a cabinetry budget that worked for their family.
Cabinetry, Finishes, and Standout Features
The finished kitchen features Designers Choice semi-custom cabinetry with frameless construction, finished in warm Antique White with the clean Rockledge door style. The custom island brings the room to life with a rich stained cherry, adding contrast to the space.
A farmhouse sink with a gold faucet sits beneath a bright window, and a built-in window seat with glass-door display cabinets brings warmth and character that echo the home’s 1930s roots.
The kitchen also includes a full suite of LG appliances: a French door refrigerator, a slide-in induction range, an over-the-range microwave, and a panel-ready dishwasher. The client sourced the cabinet hardware and pendant lighting herself, adding a personal, curated touch to the finished space.
A Kitchen the Family Loves to Use
The clients noted that our 6-Step Process kept their kitchen project smooth and on time throughout. They also describe the finished kitchen as a true upgrade for their family’s daily life.
Their favorite details are the ones that make everyday tasks easier: the pegged dishware drawer, the secret island storage, and the junk drawer that finally gives the family a place for the small stuff. For a family settling into their forever home, this kitchen renovation delivers a space built for their busy family and how they actually live.
