A Kitchen Frozen in Time
When this Glastonbury family bought their home two and a half years ago, they knew the 1979 kitchen wouldn’t last long. As the place they planned to put down roots for good, the space needed to work for daily life with two kids and a dog, while finally catching up to 2026.
Finding the Right Partner
Being new to the renovation process, they took the advice of their contractor, WestWay Construction LLC, and reached out to Dean Cabinetry. Meeting the team immediately sealed the deal. The couple loved supporting a family-owned business. They connected with Dean Cabinetry’s personal, hands-on approach, and they found owner, Leah, warm and welcoming from their very first conversation during the Discovery stage.
A Smooth, Collaborative Planning Process
The kitchen planning process moved smoothly from there. The clients came in with a vision, and their Client Manager helped bring it into focus — they offered thoughtful options, including a key layout change to relocate the refrigerator. It was a small shift that made a big difference in the kitchen’s overall flow and functionality.
Throughout our 6-step process, the clients found the entire team knowledgeable, kind, and quick to respond—making an unfamiliar territory feel easy to navigate for first-time renovators.
A Modern Palette
The finished kitchen uses the semi-custom Mass Design cabinet line, featuring a frameless construction with the clean-lined Hudson door style. Perimeter cabinets were finished in a soft Frosty White, complemented by natural maple floating shelves for a warm, textural contrast. The island anchors the room in a rich Charcoal Gray, creating a striking two-tone palette that balances brightness with depth.
Thoughtful Features, Built for Daily Life
Function was just as much a priority as style. A standout feature of the kitchen is the pantry, outfitted with pull-outs for effortless organization, while a dedicated coffee bar gives the space a personal feel.
The kitchen is equipped with a suite of LG appliances, including a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and an XO microwave drawer, rounding out a kitchen that’s as practical as it is polished.
Delivery & Installation Success
Delivery and installation went smoothly, with the team’s communicative, clean, and pleasant approach standing out to the homeowners. Even when a detail like the toe kicks required some extra attention, the installers took the time to get it just right. That same care and attention to detail carried through every step, leaving the family with a kitchen that finally matches the home they plan to spend the rest of their lives in.
