Mass Design Semi-Custom Kitchen Cabinets | White | Glastonbury, CT

This Glastonbury, Connecticut kitchen remodel transformed a bright but sterile space into a warm, personalized home centerpiece. With design guidance from Dean Cabinetry and contractor Dave Cardell of Above & Beyond Home Improvements, the homeowners brought their vision to life—combining semi-custom Delray Cabinetry in Chalk White with a colorful island, detailed hardware, and thoughtful finishes. The result is a functional, welcoming kitchen that reflects their personality and everyday lifestyle.

The Kitchen Story

When a recently married couple in Glastonbury Connecticut decided to stay in their home, they knew the kitchen needed a change. The original design felt too sterile—lacking warmth and personality. They envisioned a space that reflected their style and everyday life, with thoughtful details and a more custom feel.

With the help of Dean Cabinetry and contractor Dave Cardell from Above & Beyond Home Improvements LLC, they turned that vision into a reality.

Discovery and Design with Dean Cabinetry

The couple discovered Dean Cabinetry through their contractor, Dave. They were drawn to the strong website, family business vibe, and stellar reviews.

Early conversations in the Discovery stage with Leah helped shape their ideas. She encouraged them to share inspiration photos and guided them through the process.

Paul led the design phase, offering clear visual tools like on-screen renderings and door samples. This made the process more interactive and gave them confidence in their decisions.

Materials and Personalized Features

The kitchen features Massachusetts Design’s Delray Cabinetry in Chaulk White, chosen for its semi-custom flexibility and bright, clean look. A standout element is the colorful island, which adds contrast and personality to the space. The couple selected their own countertops, tile, and even wallpaper—putting their personal touch on every corner.

They paid attention to the small things too: a detailed countertop edge profile and thoughtful hardware. These features made the kitchen feel less generic and more like home.

Installation and Final Touches

Installer Joe handled the cabinetry with care and professionalism. Even with a rainy delivery day, the process went smoothly. Joe quickly resolved minor issues and earned praise for being kind and attentive.

The couple especially appreciated how everyone—from design to installation—was easy to reach and eager to help.

A Kitchen That Reflects Their Story

While this isn’t the couple’s forever home, for the years they plan to stay, it truly feels like theirs. The kitchen reflects their personality, from the playful island to the refined finishes. They’re proud of how it turned out and grateful for a team that listened, adjusted, and delivered!
