This renovation journey started with a simple, everyday request: asking their son to hop in the shower. Little did they know, the performance of his favorite song would be interrupted by a much bigger issue—a clogged pipe. As water backed up from the shower, it overflowed into the kitchen sink, eventually flooding the entire kitchen. After the initial panic, the homeowners got to work cleaning up the mess and realized it was time for a serious kitchen upgrade. That’s when they partnered with the pros! Christopher Tierinni from JJ&C Contractors teamed up with us to create this stunning new kitchen space.
For these homeowners, functionality was key. They wanted everything in the kitchen to have its place and purpose. From the start, their vision was clear: maintain a similar layout, but improve the areas of the old kitchen that no longer fit their lifestyle. Key upgrades included more storage, better accessibility for occasional-use items, and expanded seating at the island.
The project started with Kith Kitchens Frameless Full Overylay Homestead II cabinets in a sleek Bright White finish. Two-tiered cabinets extend all the way to the ceiling, providing ample extra storage, while a stacked double pantry in the corner ensures all kitchen essentials are within easy reach. They paired a gorgeous white Carrara herringbone marble backsplash with contrasting black matte granite countertops, complemented by a matte white GE Cafe range and microwave. This homeowner was meticulous when it came to organization: spice drawers, a cutting board organizer, and perfectly placed utensil and knife drawers make everything easy to find and use.
The island steals the show with its pop of color and practicality. Painted in Slate with a white Calacatta quartz countertop, it serves multiple functions—not just for meal prep, but also with a lower seating area for four, ideal for homework sessions or family dinners. And they didn’t forget the kids! The roll-out pantry, positioned next to their dream paneled refrigerator, keeps snacks easily accessible, while a slim side cabinet cleverly stores extra beverages, ensuring they’ll never run out.
On the opposite wall, the ultimate wet bar and coffee center shines, framed by double-stacked pantries. With plenty of pantry space, the beverage center adds a touch of elegance with upper glass cabinets, perfect for displaying beautiful glassware and dishes.
So, all’s well that ends well after what started as a simple shower request.
