When a young family bought this home at auction in West Hartford, Connecticut, they immediately saw its potential. The house needed plenty of love and updates to make it their forever home—starting with the kitchen. The existing layout felt cramped and dark, far from the warm, welcoming space they imagined.
Finding the Right Partner
With a toddler and full-time jobs, the couple needed help turning their vision into reality. A close friend recommended Dean Cabinetry, and the family quickly saw the difference. From the first meeting, Designer Cara offered creative ideas, helpful guidance, and a personalized plan.
The renovation was a team effort, with general contracting handled by Villwell Builders, LLC – ‘We Got a Guy’. Other companies they considered were far more expensive and much less flexible. Dean Cabinetry made the process smooth, affordable, and enjoyable.
Custom Touches That Made a Difference
The homeowners chose Stock Cabinetry from Fabuwood’s Galaxy line. The off-white warmth of Linen lends a timeless charm to the sleek cabinetry, blending subtle sophistication with a relaxed, welcoming feel. The kitchen features elegant soapstone perimeter countertops, complemented by a striking Danby Marble island.
One of their favorite features is the Dean Cabinetry custom island paneling, which matches beautifully with the new flooring. They also love the spice drawer, open counter shelving, and handpicked hardware from Rejuvenation and Etsy. These personal touches made the space feel truly theirs.
A Minor Bump, Handled with Care
During installation, the team encountered a small hiccup, but they handled it promptly and professionally. The rest of the process ran smoothly, thanks in part to Installer Todd’s friendly attitude and great energy—his good taste in music didn’t hurt, either.
A Bright, Functional Kitchen for Everyday Life
Now complete, the kitchen is open, bright, and perfectly suited to this growing family. It has become a space where they cook, host, and create memories every day. As the rest of the house comes together, this kitchen stands proudly at the center of their new beginning.
