This young family came to Dean Cabinetry ready to finally tackle their dream kitchen. Their previous cabinets were dated and worn, the layout felt awkward, and there simply wasn’t enough space for daily life. With a toddler on the move, two dogs, and a cat, the old kitchen just wasn’t cutting it. While they had both experienced renovations before, this was their first time leading one themselves—and they were ready to make it count.
The client gave great feedback about Citywide’s John Dziadul, who helped them pick out their countertop and backsplash. With Citywide and Dean Cabinetry’s help, they knocked down a wall, reimagined the flow of the space, and ended up with a kitchen that’s as functional as it is beautiful.
From day one, designer Paul made the experience smooth and enjoyable. He walked them through layout ideas, cabinet options, and finishes—never pushing, just guiding. He helped them land on Fabuwood’s Fusion cabinets in Kona, a rich, dark walnut color that gave the kitchen warmth and style. The couple especially appreciated how Paul helped them stick to their vision and budget. Installer Shawn kept the momentum going—he was fast, friendly, and answered all of their questions along the way.
One of the biggest transformations? Storage and counter space. By removing a wall and reworking the layout, they were able to add four feet of cabinetry next to the sink. Not only that, they were also able to add an entire wall of cabinets for a new coffee and toaster station. What used to be a cluttered, tight space is now open, airy, and incredibly practical. Their favorite features include the soft-close doors and drawers (toddler-proof!), and having room to keep all of their kitchen tools.
Now, instead of dodging each other during dinner prep or rummaging through other rooms to find a blender, the family can enjoy a space that works for their rhythm. There’s more breathing room, more organization, and—maybe best of all—more moments of ease in the middle of a very full life.
