Investing in Today, Preparing for Tomorrow
With the possibility of a future move somewhere down the road, maximizing your home’s value while enjoying your space in the present is a balancing act. For these clients, homeowners of a beautiful 1990 property in Guilford, CT, the road to a kitchen renovation actually started with a completely different project.
The project started with a simple plan to replace the kitchen flooring. But the homeowners quickly shifted focus, realizing that replacing the worn, dinged cabinets and sticky drawers would truly elevate the home’s equity.
Seeking a partner who could deliver high-end quality without the guesswork, they skipped the stock cabinet stores in favor of a more personalized experience. Encouraged by glowing recommendations from both a neighbor and their contractor, Lakeview Building and Remodeling LLC, they chose Dean Cabinetry.
Partnerships that Matter
The kitchen planning goal was simple yet vital: create a layout that felt custom and functional for daily use, but retained a charming aesthetic.
Working closely with Client Manager, Paul, the couple set out to transform the heart of their 4,149-square-foot home. Paul’s knowledge and thoughtful solutions made him a natural fit for the project.
The homeowners were amazed that a single installer handled the entire installation with such skill and attention to detail. Jay’s responsiveness left a lasting impression, and when a small toe-kick adjustment was needed, he returned promptly to make it right.
Partnering with Bill Adinolfi from Lakeview Building and Remodeling, the construction process moved smoothly. The clients noted Bill remained true to his straightforward approach, delivered exactly what he promised and offered thoughtful suggestions along the way, making the entire process feel effortless and dependable.
Materials that Matter
The clients chose frameless John Dean Custom Cabinetry, featuring classic recessed flat-panel doors and a subtle bevel framing bead to blend modern functionality with traditional New England charm. The perimeter showcases a bright, clean match to Benjamin Moore’s iconic Chantilly Lace, while the center island is in a rich, stained Cherry wood.
The undeniable highlight of the finished space is the gorgeous contrast of the materials. The crisp, painted perimeter cabinetry beautifully bounces natural light around the room, while the rich, stained Cherry island provides a warm, grounded centerpiece.
Designed for Everyday Living
Functionality takes center stage with specialized storage solutions built around the couple’s cooking style. A dedicated custom coffee bar quickly became a favorite feature, while a deep premium sink and smooth, heavy-duty soft-close drawers effortlessly elevated everyday use.
Modern appliances are tucked perfectly into the design, keeping the focus on clean lines and daily functionality: the Frigidaire Gallery 4-Door French Door Refrigerator, Frigidaire Gallery 36″ Induction Cooktop, Frigidaire Gallery 30″ Single Electric Wall Oven, Sharp 24″ Microwave Drawer, and Bosch 800 Series Dishwasher.
A Beautiful Return on Investment
The final outcome is a stunning, market-ready kitchen that bridges the gap between everyday luxury and smart home investment. This Guilford transformation proves that whether you are remodeling your forever home or thoughtfully updating an investment before selling, the right cabinetry partner makes all the difference.
