The Kitchen Story

After experiencing a devastating house fire two years ago, this Canton, CT family chose to see their loss as a chance to start fresh. Though they had remodeled their kitchen just ten years earlier, this time they rebuilt with total intention.

They dreamed of more space, thoughtful design, and features that could meet the needs of a growing, busy family. With the help of Dean Cabinetry—and the eye for detail and cohesive styling brought by their interior designer, Holly of Holly Adrianne Design—the homeowners turned a setback into an opportunity to create their forever home.

The project went far beyond the kitchen. Dean Cabinetry designed and provided custom cabinetry for nearly every corner of the home: walk-in pantry, dining hutch, master bath, jack and jill closets, and a brand-new bar area.

At the heart of the rebuild is a stunning kitchen built for both everyday life and entertaining. Custom Inset Dean Cabinetry cabinets—finished in soft white and warm natural wood tones—give the space timeless style.  The cabinetry layout was designed around how the family cooks, gathers, and lives.

One of the standout features? The two custom islands. The prep island, finished in white, includes a sleek quartz surface paired with a butcher block end cap—ideal for food prep. The second island, crafted from rift white oak, adds extra seating and abundant storage. Together, they bring function and flow to the open-concept design while making a visual statement. Countertops from Timeless Stone complete the look with a polished, durable finish.

Beyond the kitchen, the walk-in pantry offers organized, accessible storage. The dining hutch adds a layer of charm and a practical display space. The bar area provides the perfect place to host guests or unwind. Each space was intentionally designed, blending function with a refined, comfortable aesthetic.

Today, the family says they couldn’t be happier! They absolutely love how everything turned out and finally have a home that feels complete—filled with warmth, ease, and intention. What began as a difficult moment turned into the chance to build their dream from the ground up.
